Application Rules

 

  1. All donation requests must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, February 23,  2010.

 

  1. The Donation & Grants Application Form must be submitted in full.

 

  1. Grants and donations in kind are awarded only to non-profit organizations.

 

  1. Enclose a copy of your organization’s current:  Financial Statement & Operating Budget. 

 

(A summary/overview copy of these reports will suffice.)

 

  1. All Grants and donations are subject to applicable sections of the East Bay Heritage Quilters’ by-laws as follows:

 

Article 2 – Purpose

 

Section A:  The purpose of this organization is to preserve and continue the traditions, culture, and history of quilting; to promote fellowship among interested persons in all aspects of quilting:  to contribute to the knowledge of and to promote the appreciation of  fine  quilts;  to  sponsor and support quilting activities; to encourage quilt making and collecting; to contribute to the growth of knowledge of quilting techniques, textiles, patterns, and quilt makers through educational meetings and travel.

 

Section C:  The property of these nonprofit organizations is irrevocable dedicated to charitable purposes and no part of the net income or assets of this organization shall ever inure to the benefit of any officer or member thereof or to the benefit of any private person.

 

Article 11 – Fiscal Policies

 

Section B:  The Executive Board may make donations of moneys to an organization which is in compliance with Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.  Donation money must support the purposes of EBHQ.  Any exceptions shall be voted on by the general membership with written notice thirty (30) days prior to the general meeting.
