Cloth Doll Challenge Announcement
East Bay Heritage Quilters Presents:
A Cloth Doll Challenge to be shown as a Special Exhibit during the
2016 Voices in Cloth Quilt Show. The quilt show is held the weekend of March 19 & 20, 2016, at the Craneway Pavillion in Richmond’s historical Waterfront Park.
Challenge theme: “Tell Me a Story”
All dolls have a story, what kind of story will yours tell? Fantasy, allegory, a moment in history, or personal portrait? Any cloth doll with a story is eligible.
Dolls traditionally were made to represent the human form in miniature. Contemporary dolls are moving closer to sculpture, but often continue to represent humans beyond just the form. For the first Special Exhibit of dolls presented at Voices in Cloth, the East Bay Heritage Quilters Guild invites all California doll makers to enter their vision of the theme.
