Demonstration at Voices in Cloth 2008
A variety of demonstrations will be offered during
the two days of the Voices in Cloth quilt show.
The schedule is:
Saturday, April 12

10-11:30pm
Liz Berg, surface design with found objects – using “found” objects and textile paint, learn to create unique patterns on fabric to incorporate into your quilts.

11:30-1pm
Bess Chin demonstrates Sashiko, the Japanese stitching technique that uses fine running stitches to define traditional Japanese patterns on fabric.

1-2:30pm
Jennifer Chiaverini, author of the Elm Creek Quilts novels, talks about her work and the world of Elm Creek Manor

2:30-4pm
Judy Mathieson, of Mariner's Compass fame, will demonstrate a method of freezer paper piecing. This is a fold back method that does not require sewing though the paper.
Sunday, April 13

10-11:30pm
Lynn Koolish, Inkjet printing on fabric - no computer needed. Stop by and try your hand at creating an instant collage using an inkjet printer to print on fabric.

11:30-1pm
Karen Flamme, Karen will show you how to make beautiful blooms based on her book, "Fast, Fun and Easy Fabric Flowers. You don't even have to know how to sew to make these no-wilt, colorful bouquets.

1-2:30pm
Kerri Hansing will demo how to make fun fabric postcards (yes they are
mailable).
Use up your scraps or purchase a scrap bag and design away.
Embellishments make these especially unique.
Use one fabric and design a series of postcards to bundle as a gift for a friend.
No sewing machine required.
