Community Quilts

EBHQ members have a long history of sharing quilting expertise, time, and love with others. Individual members often make beautiful raffle quilts for fund raising efforts in local schools and organizations.  The Deanna Davis Community Quilt Project volunteers (previously Children's Quilt Project) donate over 1000 quilts a year to local children and youth organizations. Community Quilt volunteers have also stitched full size quilts to comfort several communities affected by California fires and other natural disasters. And, our healing quilts have anonymously comforted local young people affected by unspeakable violence.

You are most welcome to join us in our current quilt projects:
  • Quilts of Valor  This foundation collects and distributes quilts called Quilts of Valor (QOV's) to service members and veterans. This foundation is not about politics. It's about people. EBHQ members donate quilts and fabric to this non-profit through our Deanna Davis distribution system.

The Latest Community Quilt News

The guild had a wonderful time September 19 at Drop-in working on quilts for the folks of Lake County.   The next day we were able to send 30 adult and 30 child size quilts to the victims of the valley fire with the Alameda County Reserve Firefighters.

Special thanks to Carolyn Weil, Susan Dague, Marcia Alpert, and Jean Wolslegel for putting this work day together on such short notice, and to all who helped on Saturday.
